HOW IT ALL BEGAN

13.02.1996
BIRTHDAY IN BASEL, SWITZERLAND
Some time after 1996
PLAY
It began with a bike. Well, not exactly. It began with my brother. Driving around the kitchen table with a bobby car.
2005
FIRST TRIATHLON
Eventually my endless need for movement brought me to a triathlon club. I was eight. What started as a fun kids activity soon got more serious, as puberty hit and I grew strong.
2014 - 2017
INTERNATIONAL RACING & UNI UK
I raced international ITU triathlon competitions as a Junior and U23. I combined my Bachelors› degree in International Relations in Birmingham (UK) with being part of the University’s High Performance Triathlon Team.
2017-2019
INJURY & LIFE
Unfortunately a foot injury forced me out of running for two years. I decided that I had seen enough of elite sports and focused on other things in life. I travelled across Europe, did internships and political projects, I came out and finished my masters degree in International Law at the University of St. Gallen.
December 2020
FIRST TRACK CYCLING TRAINING
Then COVID hit. While the world stood still, I cycled again more. Through a friend I was invited to do a women’s track session that was organised by the national team. At 24 years and after five minutes of riding round in circles, I felt that I had found a new love and finally the right sport for me.
February 2021
NATIONAL TEAM
Two months later, I integrated the national team’s training.
July 2021
FIRST TRACK RACE & WORLD CUP
Six months after my track initiation, I rode my first track race, followed by a World Cup in St. Petersburg, where we won a Bronze Medal for Switzerland in the Team Pursuit.
October 2021
WORLD & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Soon after I started at my first European and World Track Championships in the Individual and Team Pursuit.
That’s how it all began.
2022
HITTING A WALL
After this very smooth start into the sport four years ago, my second year was riddled with failures. I was still working 80% on a legal case in an NGO alongside hustling as a now elite cyclist. Soon enough I hit a wall. I was completely burned out from chasing performance in too many areas of my life. I took a step back and was suspended from the national team at the start of 2023.
HOW IT'S GOING

2023
INTENSE PHYSICAL & MENTAL WORK
After a year of intense mental and physical work on myself, and reducing my work load, I won some international meetings and was put back on the national team.
JANUARY TO MAY 2024
BACK IN THE GAME
In 2024 I raced at the European Track Championships and was among the contenders for the Paris Olympic Games. Despite my greatest efforts I was not selected. That was tough moment, but I decided to refocus.
MARCH TO SEPTEMBER 2024
FIRST INTERNATIONAL ROAD SEASON
I rode my first international road season in 2024 with the Italian continental team Bepink Bongioanni. I quit my job to be able to live and train as a professional cyclist.
OCTOBER 2024
TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
At the Track World Championships in Copenhagen, I contributed to a great 6th place in the team pursuit, very narrowly missing out on a Swiss record. I also rode the Scratch race, where I was 19th.
November & december 2024
UCI TRACK CHAMPIONSLEAGUE
Soon after World’s I got invited to the prestigious event series of the UCI Track Championsleague. There I rode one of my best results in an individual event, coming 3rd in the Scratch in London.
January & February 2025
VIRUS & NON-SELECTION
Life is no smooth line. I got ill three times in the crucial months of preparation for the Track European Championships. This is why I’m not racing at this year’s European Track Championships.
